Graphic Design Reflection

This semester in Graphic design I furthered my education in Adobe Illustrator. I also Learned new things in Photoshop. I learned how to create new patterns, for example a mandala pattern. Another thing I learned how to create was a carton and 3D revolve.  The team carton project was a fairly simple project but it took a lot of planning and project management. I needed advanced technical skills to create the 3D revolve and carton.

I learned how to do those projects through tutorials I found on youtube or through presentations Ms. Lofquist gave us. However I learned better from the tutorials because I could go at my own pace. But if I didn't understand something I would ask the people around for help. In this class I was constantly collaborating with the people around me.

Graphic Design is important because the visual arts are starting to become more influential in our world. Since it is becoming more influential it is important to have the skills in graphic design. Another reason it is important is because it teaches you how to work with others and project management because we are assigned new projects every week even if we aren't done with the previous one. This graphic design class teaches you to be organized. 

As a result of taking graphic design I have acquired great strengths. My strengths include leadership, collaboration,and creating patterns in Adobe.  I gained these strengths through constant use and practice. However, I also have weaknesses. My weaknesses include project management and technical skills. Project management was hard for me this year because we were given new assignments on top of each other.

From the beginning of this semester I have improved dramatically. My skills in photoshop have improved because I can now create cartoons and color splash. My skills in Illustrator have also improved too.

I can now use what I have learned in illustrator and in photoshop to create awesome designs. These skills will help me create a portfolio for senior and junior year. It will also set me apart from other other employees because I will have special design skills.

I would not change anything. I think I had a very successful year in graphic design I learned a lot of new things and made new friends.

This year I gained many strengths. Some of my strengths include project management, cooperation, and leadership. I have strong project management because I get my assignments done on time and they are quality packages. My cooperation skills are strong too because I communicate well with Haley and calm her down when she's stressed out. I have great leadership skills because I can lead people without being bossy.   My personality type is an ESFJ. ESFJ are kind, smart, and detailed workers. We are concerned about other peoples feelings more than our own. ESFJ take pride and their work and appreciate praise and compliments. I think my personality type fits me right on. For example ESFJ are organized people and  we get our work done on time and that describes me perfectly!   Whenever I participate in group settings I mostly try to be the lead role. I work well and cooperate with my other group members. If my role in the group is not the leadership role then I still tend to participate as much as I can.                      However, sometimes my mom misunderstands me because I try to boss my little brother around. I created this logo by using adobe illustrator. I used the shape tool to create the circle and then i used the color tool to change the color to blue. I then used the triangle tool to create the chevron effect and used the color tool to change the colors. I also used the type tool to type my name and changed the font to reflect my girly and feline side.  Some problems I faced while creating my logo were creating the chevron pattern and figuring out how to position my name.  I addressed the problems by first testing out different shapes and lines to form the chevron then i used different colors to create the illusion of chevron. Some things i did well in the logo project was creating the illusion of chevron and the different colors that went into my logo. However I still need to work on adding different levels of interest and adding more depth. Next time I do this project I will spend more time on details and on the shape and less time on choosing fonts. ...
