ONW Now Feature Story

This project took about three weeks to film and edit. We were paired up with one other student and our goal was to interview them about a passion or hobby they do. In the beginning we paired up with our partners and discussed ideas that we had about filming and then we got together to set up times to film and interview.  It was difficult to work around each others schedules especially if what they wanted to film was an outside school activity.

Along the way I learned the correct way to set up an interview and how to use key lighting. I also learned how to stagger the b-roll with soundbites and voice overs. Professionally I learned how to work with the client and collaborate to come up with a creative idea.

For my next project something I would differently is get more b-roll and come up with better interview questions. However will keep the same interview set up.

The scope of this project was to create ordinary objects out of shapes. By doing this we created an object just out of simple shape that we normally wouldn't think would go together. My process throughout this project was to create something relatable and that go well together. Along the way I learned how use the path finder tool and  how to use the  live paint bucket. Next time I will make a different item and use different told.

Patterns

This is a repeating pattern. For this pattern I used the polygon tool and rotated it into a diamond. Next time I will improve my project by using smart guides.  My process through out this project was trying to come up with a creative pattern and using the correct colors. I also had problems aligning the shapes equally. This is a radial pattern. A radial pattern rotates from the center to the outside. I created this pattern by first making a circle then using the direct select tool to cut out pieces of the circle. Then I rotated those pieces thus creating a spiral pattern.

Professional Project Review

This article was about a tragic event that happened at community college in Roseburg, Oregon. In Oregon an armed gunman opened fire on the campus. Nine people were killed and at least seven were wounded. The article focuses on the reporters of the incident and how demanding they were of people to get an interview with them. Many people saw this as disrespectful and rude but the reporters were just doing their job. The author does not take a strong stand for either side of the argument. He mainly discusses both sides and does not state which side is right or wrong. He agrees with the victims that it is rude but he also agrees that it is their job and that they don't mean to come off rude, but it is their job to get information quickly as possible and give it to the public. The Aritcle is not a strong source if you are looking for information of the shooting but it is strong public opinion on the topic. It discusses how reporters are too demanding of people and come off strong ...
